PTFE with its unique properties is ideally suited to the rigorous demands required by the Oil & Gas industry—from upstream exploring and drilling via distribution
to downstream processing and refining of petroleum compounds, CNG, LPG, acids, alcohols and other derivatives, including the production
of biofuel blends from various resources.
The PTFE Hose liner is virtually inert to all chemicals and solvents and has a wide operational temperature range of -60⁰C to +260⁰C.
Flexible PTFE hoses replacing pipework at the connection between the pipework and reaction vessel, loading cells or pumps are sufficiently flexible to take relative movement and thus the resulting strain on the vessel is negligible, where stainless steel pipework can crack or does not give the movement needed.
PTFE hoses do have self-cleaning capabilities, when compared to flexible stainless steel hoses that have deep annular convolutions which can trap chemicals and prevent them from draining away. Also, PTFE hoses are superior to flexible stainless steel hoses regarding flex fatigue, pin-holing and chloride stress cracking.
PTFE will not age and is UV, Ozone and weather resistant. PTFE has the lowest coefficient of friction of any solid known. No-sticking consistently ensures low pressure drops during service. The addition of a small percentage of carbon black to the PTFE also allows the PTFE hoses to dissipate any potential static charges for added safety.
